Common Scams to Avoid
Touts inside Clark International Airport (CRK) intercept arriving passengers before the official taxi desk, quoting inflated flat rates to Angeles City bars or hotels. Walk past them to the accredited desk near the exit for metered or fixed-fare coupons.
Some drivers of the yellow airport coupon taxis take circuitous routes through Balibago or Friendship areas to run up the pre-paid distance. Keep the dispatch slip and ask the guard at your destination to verify the route if the fare feels excessive.
Freelance 'porters' in the arrivals hall grab bags and then demand 300, 500 pesos for a short walk to the curb. Politely decline any unsolicited help or agree on a small tip before handing over luggage.
